New Tourist Attraction . . . Franconia Notch UFO Event Recorded !
|
In
September 1961 the First "Close Encounter of the
Third Kind" took place in Franconia Notch with
Betty and Barney Hill as they traveled south
bound on Route 3 at the exact sight of the
Notch Express Irving Station,
located adjacent to Sport Thoma.
The owners of this station have done
considerable research on this and other
unexplained UFO
phenomena, and have displayed detailed
information
about these events throughout the interior of
their store. So if you enjoy the subject
or are specifically interested and want to learn
more about this unique event in Lincoln's
history take some time to check out this most
unusual but highly interesting "UFO Museum". |

wash.
Simply punch in the five digit code
13690
in the key pad before you pay and you'll get the
car wash for $2.00 less! (Don't worry,
this is not illegal . . . we were asked to pass
the word about this code around by an employee
of the car wash.) |

The Flying
Fifties contributed
$l,005.00 to the White Mountain Adaptive Snowsports

Some Energy Advice For The
Winter ?
|
1.
Here are some useful facts to keep in
mind: |
| |
The amount
of heat contained in a gallon of #2 fuel
oil is 139,000 BTU. |
| |
The amount
of heat contained in a gallon of
kerosene is 134,000 BTU. |
| |
The
amount of heat contained in a gallon of
propane is 91,600 BTU. |
| |
The
amount of heat contained in a
kilowatt-hour of electricity is 3,413
BTU. |
|
2.
To compare the cost of heat from a
gallon of fuel oil verses a gallon of
propane you need to multiply the cost of
the propane by 139,000/91,600 or 1.52. |
|
3.
To compare the cost of heat from a
gallon of fuel oil verses electricity
you need to divide the BTU's contained
in a gallon of fuel oil by the BTU's
contained in a kilowatt hour of
electricity then multiply by the cost of
a kilowatt hour of electricity, e.g.
143,000 / 3,413 X $0.18755 or $7.86 !
(NHEC price used.) Would you still like
to have an electric car? |
|

2008 Message
From Loon's Beth Wilkie Re: Lockers !
|
We are hoping that you
have purchased your new 2008/2009 New
England Pass and that you and your
family intend to renew your Seasonal
Locker Rental.
Our existing locker guests had the
opportunity to renew lockers at current
prices until April 30th,
2008.
When you renew your
locker by our April 30th
deadline, you secure your locker rental
for next season, and are able to store
your equipment in your current locker
during the summer season free of charge.
If you
decided not to renew, we asked that the
locker was cleared of all contents by
April 30th. Neglecting to
remove belongings will result in a $25
reoccurring monthly storage fee
beginning May 1st, 2008.
To renew your seasonal
locker rental simply sign and return a
2008/2009 Seasonal Locker Agreement with
payment to Loon via fax, US Mail or
email (locker renewals are not available
by phone):
